Baptisms

Baptism is understood, the act of being baptised.
Etymologically, baptise comes :
1)-
From baptize and this from the Old Latin baptizare,
from the Ancient Greek βαπτίζειν (baptízein, "to immerse"),

2)- βάπτειν
(báptein, "to bathe, to wash"),

Baptism is an act in which a disciple of the Lord immerses a repentant person completely in a river or certain water in order to be washed of his sins. That means, this person is buried together with Christ, to put to death his body of sins and for resurrecting with a new body ready to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Baptism has to be totally in accordance with the scriptures so that its result may come to transform the baptized person to be truly forgiven  and remain a disciple of Jesus  keeping his self from the stains and filthiness of this world. An indispensable commitment to see God. Because without holiness no one will see God.

John 3:3-5

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
